Sewing for Fashion: How Sewing Blogs Evolved

Fashion Sewing: The New Trend Among Bloggers

Fashion Sewing: The New Trend Among Bloggers

Back in 2007, several bloggers, women mostly, achieved a massive traffic on their personal blogs by simply posting their outfits online. Many readers loved it because it serves as a visual inspiration for what average people like the bloggers can actually wear. It broke the notion of merely looking into celebrity’s fashion to influence our own choices. Back then, we were connecting with writers and fashionistas who resemble the lives we live. They, too, have their jobs, look out for sales, and even mix and match outfits. This is one of the reasons why fashion blogging became and remain to be such a hit. The fashion blog content developed further into featuring accessories and make-up looks.

Fast forward to today, when blogs have taken a lot of forms and purpose, we see a fresher trend in the fashion arena – sewing for fashion. Similar to how the fashion blogs basically appealed to our interests, sewing for fashion has made it more possible for regular hobbyists to actually achieve high-couture pieces through the growing sewing community online.

Sewing has now basically evolved into a DIY craft or hobby, but rather as an actual skill which can be used to create beautiful and classy pieces. Of course, we’ve always known that it’s possible to do this given we have enough time or advanced skills to do so. But reading sewing for fashion blogs make us re-think this. Fashion does not have to be a copying thing, anymore. We can create it with our own hands, from our own sewing space. This is exactly the kind of inspiration that the new sewing blogs are giving off.

After blogging about different sewing projects for a time, it becomes a routine, more than a happy task. Sometimes, we actually do a sewing project because that’s what the recent online pulse is suggesting. There is now a battle between traffic and creativity. With the sewing for fashion trend, we are able to break that sort of impasse. We can now challenge ourselves to create something of high value that will also elevate the kind of sewing projects being promoted through blogs.

There’s no need to be an internationally renowned designer just to have your own sewing for fashion blog. The more realistic the projects are, from the materials to the cut, the more relatable it becomes for readers. Interested to join the trend? Find the perfect pattern for your planned sewing project now, and start working on a whole new branding for your blog.
